Karla was born in Durant, Oklahoma, and was raised in Madill. She received her undergraduate degree in Home Economics from Oklahoma State University in 1977 and her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1980.
Karla is a member of the Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and Texas Bar Associations and National Lawyers Association. She is also a member of the Christian Legal Society and is a Master in the William J. Holloway American Inn of Court where she has served as treasurer, vice president and president. In addition to the Oklahoma state courts, she is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.
Prior to joining Lloyd at the firm, Karla was an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma and an Assistant District Attorney of Oklahoma County. In 1982, Karla was honored as the Outstanding Assistant District Attorney for the State of Oklahoma by the District Attorney's Association. Karla practices primarily in the areas of estate planning and probate.
Karla is married to Lloyd, whom she met at Oklahoma State University, and they have three wonderful children.
Karla is a volunteer at Faith Bible Church, teaching ladies Bible study groups, and with Trinity Legal Clinic which provides legal services to the poor and homeless. Karla enjoys reading, traveling, photography, boardgames, cooking and walking. She also enjoys entertaining and spending time with family and friends..
