Jon was born and raised in Oklahoma City, where he graduated from Christian Heritage Academy in 1994. He received his undergraduate degree in business from Oklahoma State University in 1998 and his law degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Law in 2003.
Jon is a partner in the firm and is a transactional lawyer whose practice is primarily focused in business law, commercial real estate, and charitable and non-profit organizations. More specifically, Jon has extensive experience in the formation and representation of various businesses, from single-member limited liability companies to complex private investment ventures. Jon's work also includes assisting clients with various types of real estate acquisitions, financing, development, and leasing, and has included working with both local developers and national chains and retailers. Jon also helps lead the firm's charitable organization practice, including the formation and ongoing representation of both public charities and private foundations.
He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, Christian Legal Society and the Edmond Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of Leadership Edmond (Class XXII) and a former associate in the William J. Holloway American Inn of Court. He was honored by the Edmond Sun newspaper by being identified as a member of the 2008 class of Twenty Under Thirty-Five. Jon is also a volunteer with Trinity Legal Clinic of Oklahoma, which provides legal aid to the homeless and poor in Oklahoma County.
He and his wife, Erin, along with their three children, reside in Edmond, Oklahoma. The Austins enjoy being actively involved at First Baptist Church of Edmond where they are teachers in the college department and Jon serves as a deacon.
